In-home support for people with developmental disabilities, run by someone who answers the phone.
Tefft Community Care provides community living supports to adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their own homes, in Oregon and Washington. The owner does the intake, knows every caregiver, and gives families one person to call.

What we do
Support is authorized through the individual's service plan and delivered by a trained Direct Support Professional in the home and the community. Depending on the plan, that can include:
- Daily livingHelp with personal care, meals, medication reminders, and keeping the household running.
- Skills toward independenceCooking, shopping, budgeting, using transit, managing appointments — taught patiently, at the person's pace.
- Community participationGetting out: work, classes, errands, recreation, faith communities, friends.
- Relief for family caregiversScheduled hours so parents and family members can rest, work, or simply have a day.
- Safety and supervisionReliable presence for people who need someone nearby to stay safe at home.
We do not provide 24-hour residential care, nursing, or behavior consultation. If those are what's needed, we'll say so and help you find them.
How it works
- A conversationCall or email. Eileen will ask what a good week looks like for the person, what's hard right now, and who is on the team.
- A referralServices are funded through the state's developmental disabilities program. Your case manager (CDDP or brokerage in Oregon; DDA in Washington) authorizes hours in the service plan. If you don't have a case manager yet, we'll point you to the right office.
- A home visitEileen meets the person and the family at home to write a service agreement: what support, when, and what matters most.
- A matchWe introduce a Direct Support Professional chosen for the person, not just the schedule. If it isn't the right fit, we change it.
- Ongoing check-insRegular contact with the family and the case manager, and one phone number when anything needs adjusting.
About Eileen
Eileen Tefft, Owner and Administrator · Randy, Supervisor of Direct Care
Eileen Tefft has spent her working life building and running businesses that depend on good people showing up: a marina and boatyard, two restaurants, a real estate brokerage that grew to thirty-five agents, and most recently a car wash she bought, operated, and sold. At one point she managed a hundred employees across four businesses and did every payroll herself.
She started Tefft Community Care because she saw how much difference a dependable caregiver makes in a family's life, and how rare it is for the person who owns the agency to be the person who picks up the phone. Here, it is.
Eileen and her husband Randy live in Vancouver, Washington. Randy trained alongside her as a nursing assistant and serves as the agency's Supervisor of Direct Care in Washington. The agency serves Clark County, Washington, and [Oregon counties].
